It has also changed the way I make decisions. Some people may think that being an exchange student is like going on vacation but there is so much to be learned from the people around you.<\/p>\r\n<p>Interacting with your host family and the new friends you make abroad all leads to great life experiences for you. One other thing that I gained from being an exchange student is I learned the meaning of \u201cgive.\u201d My host family made me feel like part of the family. They never complained and always shared everything with me even though they didn\u2019t have to give me so much. This is why I tried to repay them by helping them with whatever I could so that I could \u201cgive\u201d back to them as well.
