Getting a Physical Checkup Before Becoming an Exchange Student

One of the most important steps in preparing for the US student exchange program is to have a physical checkup and ensure you have all the necessary immunizations. The Ministry of Public Health in Thailand has determined the basic vaccinations that Thai children should receive. However, these do not meet the requirements needed to travel for study in American high schools.

After you, the student, have registered for the student exchange program, you will receive a medical checkup and vaccine form from the respective student exchange organization. You must be examined by a physician at hospital (state or private) and you must take the vaccine record document to the hospital.

**Please note that the mandatory vaccines for the US are at least one dose of the Meningococcal Meningitis vaccine (MCV4) within the past 5 years and at least 2 doses of the Hepatitis A vaccine. EduDee would like to share information on the vaccines required by the US states of Texas and Indiana for everyone to be able to better understand and to you prepare to study abroad.
